Competition mania?

Yet another competition from the Council launched at the back-end of last week - just spotted it ... all the details here.

Worthy stuff, no doubt - but it surely says a lot when this type of story is "news" in the capital city of Scotland :-(

What a waste of time and money !

What are the benefits of branding a waste lorry ?

I thought this council were so strapped for cash that they were cutting back on spending.

Can the council show in detail cost effectiveness of this type of branding ?

If they can afford to brand the vehicles then they can afford to do more uplifts per week. I think the citizens of Edinburgh would think that would be a better use of their money.

or build a complete recycling plant as they have in Dumfries where it takes ALL waste in ONE combined uplift and seperates all waste into component parts - ie Biodegradables , Iron-Steel and others, all in one building.

Thanks for the comment - I do agree that the recycling plant at Dumfries looks an impressive development:
